Avora Co-Founder and CTO, Manjit Johal, Advises Start-ups at Microsoft ScaleUp Event.
LONDON, U.K. — 16 January 2020 — Avora Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer, Manjit Johal, shared his tips and advice to some of the UK’s brightest start-up companies at yesterday’s Microsoft ScaleUp Event, Microsoft for Startups Tech Evening. As a featured guest speaker, Johal shared the Avora story with the 200-strong crowd, including lessons learned and tips for success.
His discussion touched on the best time to take funding from VCs, how to build customer empathy, the value of learning from your mistakes, as well as the changing nature of ideas that don’t need to be perfect at the outset.
Avora became an active member of Microsoft’s prestigious ScaleUp Program last year and is already benefiting from the global reach and growth the program provides. The program (previously known as Microsoft Accelerator) is designed for Series A start-ups and offers access to sales, marketing and technical support. Eligible start-ups partake in the immersive program at one of eight global locations followed by ongoing support from a dedicated team of success managers.
The ScaleUp program has collaborated with successful start-ups around the world who have collectively received billions in follow-on funding.
